The female is designed in such a way that fertilization takes place late an babies arrive only January and Febuary while the mother is hibernating. Surprisingly, these bears are not true hibernators though.
The average weight of Grizzly bears is generally 400 to 600 pounds.

*Climate*- Grizzly bears dig dens for winter hibernation, often holding up in a suitable-looking hillside. Females give birth during this winter rest and their offspring are often twins. Grizzly bears often use rock caves and hollow trees for shelter, although they can excavate a den. Dens are dug in dry, stable soil in places winter temperatures will remain above frezzing level. Snow covers and helps to insulate the den. Generally the den is large enough to accommodate the bear. The entrance to the den leads to a tunnel slopping to the actual sleeping chamber.

*Food*- Grizzly bears are powerful, top-of-the-food-chain predators, yet much of their diet consist on nuts, berries, fruit, leaves, and roots. Bears also eat other animals, from rodents to moose. Grizzly bears also feed on bulbs of plants and white bark pine nuts. Sometimes grizzlies can locate carrion from miles away and will readily feed on it.

*Facts*- Despite their impressive size, grizzles are quite fast they been clocked at 30-45 miles an hour. They can be dangerous to humans, particularly if surprised or if humans come between a mother and her cubs.

*Average of life span in the wild*- 25 years.

*Diet*- Omnivore.

*Weight*- Males reach there maximum weight of 330 to 1150 pounds by 12 years; females reach there maximum weight of 270 to 770 pounds by 8 years.
